La BBC es passa a GNU/Linux
La cadena de televisió BBC migrarà els seus ordinadors a GNU/Linux. La cadena digitalitzarà el contingut de les seves cintes, utilitzant el format estàndard MXF. També lidera la BBC un projecte de programari lliure per produir programes sense cintes, Ingex.
Es tracta d'un paquet de programari que permet la captura de video i àudio SDI, transcodificació en temps real, i embolcallament en format MXF dels videos. El projecte Ingex existeix des de l'any 2005 i ha estat alliberat ara amb llicència GPL.
